Assessment 1 (40572/11) 7IBI

The initial stage of any research is to draft a copy of your proposed aims and objectives as well as your title for your work. This will give you a chance to highlight a short overview of the business you are using as well as the topic you are investigating.

In around 1000-1500 words, set a scene for the research that you are proposing including the title, aims, objectives and key stakeholders which you feel are relevant to your work. Please use a report format with clear headings and subheadings in doing so.

All submissions should be in the region of 1,000 – 1,500 words and references should be added in the Harvard Referencing Format. There is a Harvard Referencing tutorial in the Resources Area which outlines the formatting required.

Assessment 2 (40572/12) 7IBI

Your line manager has approached you this morning to ask you about the organisation’s current induction strategy. It has been failing for many months now and she thinks you are the person to fix it.

Before doing so, your line manager has asked you to build a short proposal on the ways in which it can be done. Your task is to write a mini literature review of around 1000-1500 words which reviews the definition of induction, the forms it comes in and some critique from the authors on the ways it can improve organisational performance or otherwise. Please share with your tutor at least one journal article that you have found to establish the quality of reading material that you are reviewing.

All submissions should be in the region of 1,000 – 1,500 words and references should be added in the Harvard Referencing Format. There is a Harvard Referencing tutorial in the Resources Area which outlines the formatting required.

Assessment 3 (40572/13) 7IBI

A significant role to play in any research is the methodology. Using the source of Saunders (Research Methods for Business Students), write a short methodology with three sub headings – qualitative research, quantitative research and ethical considerations, justifying the approaches that you will take with your work.

Please use a report format which is clear and tidy in around 1000-1500 words.

All submissions should be in the region of 1,000 – 1,500 words and references should be added in the Harvard Referencing Format. There is a Harvard Referencing tutorial in the Resources Area which outlines the formatting required.

The assessment for this module is in two parts:

  • A 7000 word business reportabout the business issue that you have investigated and a short reflective report of 500 words.

Business Report

You are required to write a report on the research that you have carried out for this module. As previously explained, the report should be written in the formal academic report style, and you are likely to include the following sections:

  • Abstract
  • Literature review
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • References
  • Introduction
  • Methodology
  • Discussion
  • Recommendations

Reflective Report

You are required to write a short reflective report of 500 words about the business issue that you have researched. In writing this report:

  • Reflect on the reasons that you chose the topic. Did you manage to meet your original objectives?
  • Reflect on the parts of the module that you found most difficult. Why were they difficult? What have you learnt from that?
  • Reflect on what you have learnt about carrying out secondary research. How can those lessons be used in other learning?
  • Reflect on what you learnt from carrying out primary research. What would you change if you were to carry out the research again? What were the most difficult aspects?
  • Think about your own CPD record. Update it in accordance with what you have learnt from this task.
  • Think about your career. Have your career aspirations changed at all as a result of your experiences?
